when one door closes, another opens?
wheeeeeeeee. im back! :] plane landed this morn at 6.10. china turned out surprisingly fun.. though i wasnt really looking forward to it. haha. first we arrived at beijing where we changed plane to harbin. it was damn cold! like -2odcelcius. and at night it would reach -40! haha. wore like 4layers n was still shivering. my toes were frozen till the skin peeled.
so we spent the 1st day touring harbin. n then we went to jilin. it was at jilin tt i first saw snowflakes. actual big lovely-shaped snowflakes falling from the sky:) went there to ski too. heheh. was not as scary as korea but it was definitely colder. winds were soooo strong. n i fell only ONCE. -beams- cos we got adventurous n went up the mountain quite high n then when i pushed off i was thinking oh no shitshitshit. cos i was blinded by the snowflakes n i was travelling super fast.. n there were like bumps of snow everywhere n so i started wobbling n wobbling till somehow my skis got crossed n i collapsed clumsily. haha. so retarded. n the china onlookers travelling up on the ski pulley were all staring at me n howling instrustions at me. which i couldnt really understand. hahahah. hilarious. i was laughing so hard but i somehow managed to uncross my skis n stand up n ski down on my own. -applause please! ;] yeahh..was real fun! n it was highly amusing watching the rest learn to ski too. my aunt ching, tessa, darien n ivan. Dariens coach was the most abused ok.. he had to drag him physically up the mountain n piggy back him to n fro. haha. poor guy.. shld have seen his face man. n aunt chings coach was kinda cute. hes so pro at skiing! in asia ski olympics or something. hahah.
n then next day we went to changchun. spent 2 days there. 1st day went skiing again. this time we hired 5 coaches. one each for the 4 of them n 1 for my sis n i. so wierd la.. having some guy tag along. n he kept following me especially..cos my sis point blank refused to have a coach tagging along.. haha. but i didnt have the heart to turn him away so he just hanged ard. but he turned out quite entertaining n helpful anw. he pushed me ard n helped me w my ski poles n to get on the ski pulley. looks quite cute too.. like a lil playful boy:) we kept trying to have a decent conversation but either he or i gets lost halfway. haha. so he ended up singing cl songs n i just laughed. all i noe is tt he is 22 n lives in the village nearby n tt he is no.27. haha. his chinese name was too chim for me to read. he completely didnt understand english at all................when my sis n i were talking he ask me wat language we were speaking. =0 quite shocking. but tt area quite rural la so its normal i guess. oh n we tried to build a snow man too! it is not as easy as it looks ok. turned out quite difficult. the head was more like a stump n it kept crumbling or rolling off. haha. but the coaches helped us n we did it! yay:) put acorns for its eyes n twigs for its hands n gave it a scarf n a cap too. so cute! took lotsa pics. will try put it up soon. oh n tt nite we also went for our first full body massage ever. so cool... n then we went to shenyang for a day b4 went back to beijing for another 3days.
there we visited places like tian an men square n the forbidden city. n the tour company hired a photographer to film us. so funny...laughed like crazy when we saw the video. n we also climbed the great wall of china. woww. it was so cool. the winds were strong n it was freezing. n there was like snow n ice all over the steps. plus the steps were so steep too. n the great wall was soooo long n huge! it was tiring but a real great experience. after this 8 days in china..ive learnt to respect n even like china. the pple are honest n simple [most at least] n its so rich in culture n history. n i think my chinese has improved somewhat. haha. so well, 8 days well spent :) n now its back to home n normal life n work. im glad to be home.. but i'll miss the carefreeness n the interesting pple n experiences i get when im overseas. but oh well...all good things have to come to an end. 1st thailand, now china. still, theres christmas n lotsa stuff to look forward to :]
